Receiving tit tar treatment at OTT
The practice of tit tar calls for a highly-developed faculty of sight and touch. Because of the fundamental principle that the body is an interconnected network of systems, practitioners believe that a disruption in any one of these systems will manifest in a specific way. Hence, injuries can be detected by a well-trained eye and experienced hand.

A tit tar physician, like our trained staff at OTT, use nothing more than keen observation, a deft hand and a few therapy aids. OTT, while adhering closely to traditional tit tar methods, also takes advantage of what modern medicine has to offer in order to improve its services.

Tit tar is completely natural and thus treatments are non-invasive, non-painful and suitable for all age groups, including babies and the elderly. Recovery periods are also considerably shortened when compared to conventional convalescence.

Just step into one of our five outlets and let our friendly physicians return you to good health.

Step 1 : Making the diagnosis
When you meet an OTT physician, the first thing he will ask you to do is to describe your injury. Information that will help the physician give you accurate therapy are basic yet crucial details like:
  1. When the injury occurred
  2. How the injury occurred i.e. due to sports, a fall etc.
  3. Where the pain is felt
  4. What kind of pain it is - a dull ache, a sharp pain, constant throbbing, only when you bend over etc.
  5. Your medical history - diabetes, gout, arthritis, rheumatism etc.

Next, the physician will assess the condition by using his hands to gently feel along the affected area. An expert tit tar physician can accurately diagnose the problem with a few swift palpitations.

If you had an X-ray done elsewhere, you can bring the negative along. This would help identify your injury.

Step 1 : Treating the injury
Once the physician is satisfied with his diagnosis, he will proceed to treat the affected area. Each injury is unique to the individual who experiences it. So, too, must the therapy be tailored according to the individual’s needs.

In essence, a standard tit tar treatment will involve:

  • Bone or joint setting / realignment
Physical trauma can knock a bone out of alignment and cause a fracture.

While bones are able to heal itself, the natural repair will be imperfect without realignment work and can lead to recurring pain and impaired mobility.

In the case of a fracture, the physician, with the help of trained assistants, will gently and painlessly align the bone at the fracture site to ease the natural healing processes. This helps ensure that your limb will regain its former dexterity and strength.

Depending on the extent of the fracture, the physician may recommend a bamboo splint to aid healing.

Joints can also be knocked or pulled out of alignment, usually resulting in the joint ‘popping out’ of its socket. This is known as dislocation.

A dislocated joint needs to be ‘popped’ back into the socket and can be executed quickly by the physician.

We at OTT assure you that getting your bones and joints realigned by us will only take a few seconds and is completely painless.

  • Acupressure massage
Acupressure has several therapeutic effects on the affected areas:

a) improves blood circulation
b) relieves pain
c) reduces swelling
d) soothes tightness and loosens tension
e) accelerates recovery

The massages are usually done after a realignment exercise or used on its own to treat muscle, tendon or ligament injury.

There are several kinds of massage techniques which apply varying amounts of pressure and different parts of the hand. Which technique is used would depend on the kind of injury sustained.

  • Topical herbal medication
In traditional Chinese medicine, herbs have long been acknowledged as having an important role in curing the diseased and the injured. At OTT, we use a special compress made out of 40 selected herbs and apply it as a paste to the surface of the affected area.
  • The paste can either be applied warm or cold. The warm paste strengthens the bone and joints while improving blood circulation. The cold paste, on the other hand, reduces swelling and stiffness. It also improves blood circulation.

Step 1 : Consultation and advice
OTT not only aims to treat your injury but also to help you recover quicker. So at the end of each session, our physician will advise you on how to care for your injury, how to prevent a recurrence and how to exercise the affected part.

Some injuries may require follow-up sessions, usually a series of six visits over alternate days. Check with the physician for a more exact idea.
